Today is Car Insurance Day!
We’re going to be honest here … until recently, we didn’t know that Car Insurance Day was really a thing. Now that we do, we thought we’d take this opportunity to remind everyone just how important it is to make sure you have proper coverage.
For starters, you are legally obligated to have insurance if you’re going to drive in the state of Indiana. Pay close attention to the following minimum requirements:
Bodily injury (per person) — $25,000
Bodily injury (per accident — multiple people injured) — $50,000
Property damage (per accident) — $10,000
Uninsured Motorist Coverage
Liability insurance policies must also include uninsured/underinsured motorist liability coverage. This comes in handy if you happen to be involved in an accident with another driver who doesn’t have proper coverage.
Beyond the Basics
When you purchase car insurance, you may want to speak with your insurance agent about the different types of optional insurance that are available to you. You may want to add on benefits that coincide with your individual needs.
So, in honor of Car Insurance Day, why not take a few minutes to go over your policy and make sure your coverage is on par with your current needs? Alternatively, you could do a little comparison shopping to see if you can get comparable coverage at a better rate!
