Beware of clunky keys

Are you guilty of carrying a clunky key ring? Be careful: that bulky bunch of keys could cause damage to your ignition switch.

Heavy keys that bounce around when you drive can cause the tumblers in your ignition to wear out. To save your ignition switch, consider keeping your car keys on a separate key ring. (Or, get one of those nifty key rings that makes it easy to remove your car’s ignition key from the rest of the bunch before you drive.)

(Hint: Does your key “stick” sometimes when you start your car? That could be a warning sign. You may want to check your ignition switch before you end up getting stranded somewhere.)
