Beware of ghosts and goblins!

As you make your way around town this evening, pay special attention to all of the ghosts, goblins, clowns and cowboys that are roaming the streets.

Trick-or-treaters will be out and about from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight in Fort Wayne. Click here for trick-or-treat times in other area communities.

Also, play it safe and follow these tips from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration:

  • Slow down, and don’t pass stopped vehicles. A herd of trick-or-treaters may be getting ready to climb in or out of a car.
  • Avoid using your cell phone. This is certainly a smart driving strategy any time you are behind the wheel, but it’s especially important on nights like tonight. Pay extra attention to everything going on around you.
  • Be on the lookout for children. In all of their excitement, little ones are likely to forget common safety rules. (Yes, they probably know to look both ways before they cross a street, but that doesn’t mean they’ll remember to do it!)

Bottom line: be extra careful as you make your way through town, and everyone is sure to have a safe and fun Halloween!
