Beware of slippery roadways
Sure, there’s snow on the ground today … but with spring-like temperatures in the forecast (we’re expecting temps in the high 40s on Friday!), it won’t be long before we’re driving in a big, sloppy mess.
And, that slushy mess will likely pave the way for a few weeks of spring showers.
Heed these simply safety steps to make sure you stay safe in wet weather:
- Slow down! Wet roadways can be slick, and you may not have as much control of your vehicle as you might think. Take your time, and brake early.
- Change your windshield wipers. Rain decreases our visibility, so it’s important to make sure your wiper blades are in working order.
- Check the tread on your tires. Worn tires can make it difficult to maintain traction on slick surfaces, possibly causing your vehicle to hydroplane. If your tires are worn, consider replacing them.
