College cars — is yours ready?

It’s back-to-school season, so if you or someone you know is headed off to college, take note. School supplies and dorm furniture aren’t the only things students need to think about as they prepare to hit the books. A lot of college kids travel long distances to school in a personal vehicle, and they don’t always have the means to stay on top of maintenance while they’re there.

If you or someone you know is college-bound, consider some of the following pre-semester fixes:

• Rotate tires and check tire pressure

• Check hoses and belts
• Change air filters
• Install a new set of wiper blades

• Check exterior and interior lighting
• Stay on top of fluid levels
