Thanks to everyone who takes the time to write to us … we love hearing from you!!! Here’s an especially nice letter we received recently.

I recently had a wonderful experience with your Honda Service Department, with special recognition going to service manager Doug Settle. This is one of the reasons I don’t regret becoming an all-Honda family. I used to own only domestic vehicles.

Before I went to my scheduled visit, I spoke with Doug regarding a very costly problem with the gear box on my beloved Civic Si vehicle. I told Doug that there was a service bulletin on the problem but didn’t think my warranty was going to cover it. He checked a few things and assured me that he would do the repairs to the gear box at absolutely no charge. WHAT A RELIEF.

He ordered the parts and scheduled me the next Monday. I told him that the car definitely needed new brake pads (front and rear), and it needed to be serviced as well. He contacted me that Monday and said my brakes had at least 20 percent life and could wait. UNBELIEVABLE. I am a mechanic/maintenance supervisor myself (unbeknownst to Doug) and I told him that the pads were gone and ordered their replacement. He simply did not want to waste my money – but I would have never known otherwise.

His department removed, repaired and replaced my transmission, inspected my brakes (front/rear) and did an oil change all by 3:30 p.m. the same day. Again, I know this work, and I think that is simply outstanding! Are these mechanics training for the “pits” in Indy? Again, OUTSTANDING!!!

I received super friendly service from the first discussion with the Service writer to completing the transaction with the cashier. Kudos to Doug and his team!
