Help keep kids safe on Halloween

As you make your way around town on Wednesday evening, pay special attention to the plethora of pint-sized witches, movie stars and comic book characters roaming the streets!

Trick-or-treaters will be out and about from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Fort Wayne. Click here for trick-or-treat times in other area communities.

Play it safe and follow these driving tips:

  • Slow down, and don’t pass stopped vehicles. Parents of trick-or-treaters may stop frequently as kids climb in or out of their vehicles.
  • Avoid using your mobile phone. This is certainly a smart driving strategy any time you are behind the wheel, but it’s especially important on Halloween.
  • Be on the lookout for fast moving children. In all of their excitement, little ones are likely to forget common safety rules.

Bottom line: be extra careful as you make your way through town, and everyone is sure to have a wonderful Halloween!
