It’s time for a little spring cleaning

We hate to break it to you, but when it comes to “spring cleaning,” you really can’t forget about your car. Months of winter weather can take their toll, so we’ve put together a little checklist to help you make sure your car is ready to roll:

  • Remove winter tires. If you have all-season tires, it’s probably time to have them rotated.
  • Say goodbye to winter grime. Give your car a thorough washing, including the underbody where salt can build up. Also, vacuum your car’s interior.
  • Extreme heat and sunlight can cause vinyl surfaces (the dashboard, steering wheel and seats) to crack and fade. It’s a good idea to apply a protectant to these surfaces.
  • Get an oil change and check fluids.
