Say goodbye to stubborn stains

Taking care of the outside of your car is one thing, but when stubborn stains crop up on the inside, many car owners really aren’t sure how to tackle the problem.

Here’s the good news: a host of household products can eliminate stains on your car’s upholstery. In fact, detergent and dishwashing liquid can be comparable to commercial upholstery cleaners! (Who knew?)

Here are some common culprits and helpful home cleaning remedies:

  • Gasoline: Add 1 tsp. vinegar and 1 tsp. dishwashing liquid to a quart of warm water. Wash with the solution and repeat if necessary.
  • Ink: Try a spritz of hairspray or a splash of rubbing alcohol.
  • Lipstick: White, non-gel toothpaste will do the trick. Scrub with a soft brush or cloth and then wipe with a clean towel.
